We are pleased to announce that the Ottawa Declaration Working Group, in association with Library and Archives Canada and the Canadian Museums Association, will be hosting “Taking it to the Next Level: Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums (GLAMs) Summit 2018.” The event will be held on January 30, 2018 at The Royal Ontario Museum, 100 Queen's Park, Toronto, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Building on last year’s Summit on the Value of GLAMs, this year’s meeting will be an interactive day of discussion drawing on the following themes:
Drawing from both panellists and participants, the “Taking it to the Next Level” Summit will develop a collective approach to strategic collaboration and visibility. Discussions will provide the opportunity to explore how GLAMs can demonstrate their value beyond their immediate sector. Speakers will include Senator Patricia E. Bovey, Daphne Wood (Greater Victoria Public Library), Robert Spickler (formerly of the Canadian Conference of the Arts), Andrea Cohen Barrack (TD Corporation) and Chris Kitzan (Canadian Aviation and Space Museum), among others. Please see the event website for more information about the sessions and a complete list of speakers.
There is no registration fee for this event. I encourage you to share the details of this event with your professional contacts and networks.
As seating is limited, please confirm your attendance at the Summit, by registering online by Friday 19 January 2018. Reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. If you cannot attend in person, you are welcome to follow the sessions on Twitter using the hashtag #GLAM2018.
We look forward to seeing you in January.
